Splash for Life began in 2023 with a New York City teenager who couldn’t imagine life without the water. After more than a decade as a competitive swimmer, Shila Jenkins knew firsthand the barriers that keep kids out of the pool, from the high cost of private lessons to something as simple as never finding a swim cap that could fit her hair.
Instead of accepting those obstacles, she designed her own swim caps made for long hair and set out to turn the challenges she’d faced into opportunities for others.
Today, that vision has grown into a mission close to her heart: teaching kids to swim and providing swim gear to children worldwide, so every child can experience the water safely and with confidence. And we’re just getting started ,Splash for Life inc.
hopes to expand into sailing instruction and create safe aquatic spaces in urban communities where pools are limited or overcrowded, bringing the water closer to the kids who need it most. Because at Splash for Life, we believe swimming isn’t just a sport it’s a life skill, and every kid deserves it.
